The rulebook is surprisingly clear for a game of this complexity, making it easy to get the strategic tension of cutting off Rabaul. I've already played through the first scenario twice, and the historical notes really add to the atmosphere.
Aurora ★★★★★
The biome nodes add such a fresh layer of tension to each mission—I love not knowing what hazards will pop up next. My first game with it, a new enemy ambushed me from a completely unexpected direction. Definitely worth it for anyone who's memorized the base deck.
Hazel ★★★★★
I was pleasantly surprised by the detailed historical background notes in the companion book—they add a lot of context to the scenario setups. The Tiger vs. T-34 matchups feel well-researched and balanced, which keeps each game tense.
Alexander ★★★★★
The scenario book gives you that real sense of the Kursk buildup, and the 1" counters are chunky and easy to handle. My first game was a tense Soviet defense that came down to the last few turns.
Eli ★★★★★
The map and counters look great, and the rules do a nice job capturing the confusion of the first day. My only small gripe is that the setup took a bit longer than I expected.
Adam ★★★★☆
