Tigers and T-34s, West of Prokhorovka

July 1943, the third year of the invasion, and the Battle of Kursk is starting. Some of the worst of it happens on a few square miles west of Prokhorovka.

You take the Soviet defenders, or the 1st SS Panzergrenadier Division Leibstandarte Adolf Hitler coming at them.

Ground That Was Prepared for You

New rules cover anti-tank ditches, low wheat, tank emplacements and roadblocks. The Soviets have had time to dig, and every one of those things is a decision you have to make before your armour is committed rather than after.

Killing a Tank by Hand

New weapons put the hand-held RPG-43 anti-tank grenade and anti-tank mines in play, so infantry in the right place can stop something that outguns everything they own.

The Real Battlefield

The maps join into one historical battlefield covering Hill 252.2, the Soviet trenches to the east and the Oktiabrski State Farm to the north. It is the ground as it was, not a generic hill and a wood.

Dark July 43 Companion book covers all the module rules, scenarios and important player aids. The Companion book can be used along with our board game edition or for virtual gaming online.

Alexander ★★★★★

I was pleasantly surprised by the detailed historical background notes in the companion book—they add a lot of context to the scenario setups. The Tiger vs. T-34 matchups feel well-researched and balanced, which keeps each game tense.

Jacob ★★★★★

The map layouts for the western Prokhorovka sector are incredibly tight, and the scenario book does a great job of funneling Tigers and T-34s into those brutal close-range fights. I've played through the first three scenarios twice already, and the terrain details really change how you approach each

Joseph R. ★★★★★

The historical context and detailed unit breakdowns really bring the Prokhorovka engagements to life. Even for someone familiar with the battle, the scenario book adds depth that makes each game feel fresh.
