The Battle of Mogadishu

The raid was supposed to take an hour. Two helicopters came down inside the city, and the men on the ground spent the night fighting their way to the crews.

You run the Rangers and the Delta operators trying to reach the crash sites, or the militia closing on them from every street in the city.

Fight block by block, where a building has three floors and every one of them can see you. Alleys let a militia section appear beside you and be gone before you turn. Technicals arrive with a heavy weapon on the back and no armour at all. The Americans have training, firepower and a long way to walk. The Somalis have numbers, the ground and the whole city to move through.

A Complete Game

The core rules are in the box along with the module, so this works as a way into the series as well as a game in its own right.

Day of Heroes is a complete squad-level tactical game in the award winning Lock 'n Load Tactical series, and everything you need to play is included.

Aurora S. ★★★★★

Playing through the first few turns really captures the chaos of the night fight, and the rulebook does a great job walking you through the helicopter insertion mechanics. The tension as you try to extract your Rangers is palpable.

Owen J. ★★★★★

The counters and the way the scenario book walks you through the crash site defense really pulled me in. I've played a lot of tactical games and this one nails the tension of the Rangers trying to hold those positions overnight. The map layout is smart too, with the city blocks forcing some genuinel

Avery G. ★★★★★

The map layout for the crash site scenarios genuinely made me rethink my whole approach to urban movement. Each counter has a clear role, and the chit-pull activation kept tension high through every turn. Played the convoy rescue twice and lost both times, which says a lot.
