The Beach That Had to Be Taken

Omaha was overlooked from bluffs, covered by machine guns, and the only way inland was up four draws that the Germans had known about for two years.

The sixth of June, and you take the American assault or the men above it.

Infantry platoons, engineers, Rangers, tanks, artillery and naval gunfire, across two kilometres of beach covering the Dog Green, Dog White, Dog Red and Charlie sectors, then up the draws towards Vierville and Les Moulins. A turn is a short period, because the first hours are the whole thing.

Specialists Who Do One Thing

Engineer assault teams clear the obstacles. Rangers get up ground nobody else can climb. Amphibious Sherman DDs support the landing if they make it ashore. And destroyers come in close enough to shoot at the bluffs directly.

Two Scenarios

The landing itself, and the German counterattack near Vierville the next day. Random events and changing conditions mean the same scenario does not resolve the same way twice.

Sophia W. ★★★★★

The tension really comes through in how the draw system forces you to choose between advancing or holding fire. I’ve played it three times now and each game felt completely different depending on which landing zone you push.

Alexander E. ★★★★★

The rulebook explaining the four draws and the German setup really pulls you into the tactical nightmare. I set it up last weekend and the tension on the bluffs felt almost real. A fantastic, challenging game for any wargame fan.

Zoe ★★★★☆

The map for the bluffs is genuinely tense once the machine gun nests start covering the draws, and my first landing attempt fell apart fast. Only gripe is the rulebook — it assumes you already know wargames, so I had to reread the setup section a couple times.
