Nations At War：史達林的勝利 第二版

The scenario book gives you that real sense of the Kursk buildup, and the 1" counters are chunky and easy to handle. My first game was a tense Soviet defense that came down to the last few turns.

The combat system flows really smoothly once you internalize the step-loss chart; my first game was over in under two hours. The sheer number of counters and the detailed historical scenario really capture the scale of the Eastern Front.

The map's hex grid is large enough to read unit stats easily, and the combat system really captures the tension of those massive tank engagements. Setup took a while, but the historical detail made it worth the effort.
