The historical notes on the July 1943 buildup are fantastic for setting the mood, and the way it frames both armies’ preparations makes setup feel like part of the story. The map and unit details are crisp, so I could jump straight into the Kursk scenario without squinting.

I love how the detailed setup instructions for Kursk make it so much easier to get into the action without flipping through the rulebook constantly. The map is also a huge upgrade from the first edition—much clearer and sturdier.

The scenario cards finally give the Soviet setup some teeth, and I appreciate how the July 1943 starting positions force both sides into the fight they'd been preparing for. Setup took me about twenty minutes my first time, which felt reasonable for the amount of counter density.
